Carshalton Artists Open Studios 2026: I'll be at the Water Tower
May 18, 2026 - 3 min read

I am very pleased to be taking part in Carshalton Artists Open Studios 2026, especially in a year that marks 10 years of CAOS. It has become such a generous local trail, bringing artists, homes, studios, galleries, heritage buildings, and visitors together across Carshalton.
Find me at Location 11
I will be showing work at Location 11: Carshalton Water Tower, with the entrance in West Street, opposite Festival Walk. It is one of Carshalton's most recognisable historic buildings, so it feels like a very fitting place to share local watercolours.
Who else is at the Water Tower
I will be exhibiting alongside Kevin Wells, who works in illustration, Maggie Penton, a printmaker who also belongs to Oaks Park Printmakers, Neringa Paulauskyte, who is showing painting, Penny Smith, who works with acrylic and collage, and my own watercolour paintings as Simon Stephens.
When to visit
Carshalton Artists Open Studios 2026 takes place over two weekends: 27 and 28 June, then 4 and 5 July. The trail booklet notes that locations are open from 11am to 5pm during CAOS, so there is time to wander, talk to artists, and build your own gentle route through the village.
What I will be showing
I will be bringing work rooted in Carshalton and nearby green spaces, including original watercolours, A3 and A4 prints, and cards. I will also be showcasing some of my latest Surrey Sanctuary paintings. My recent Carshalton work has been shaped by the ponds, the parks, the old buildings, and the quiet corners that make the area feel so personal.
Planning the trail
CAOS26 brings together more than 80 artists across 29 locations. The North map focuses on Carshalton village around the ponds, the River Wandle, the High Street, and several historic landmarks, all within an easy walk of Carshalton Station. For the official trail map, access details, and any travel updates, visit www.carshaltonartists.com before setting out.
If you are local to Carshalton, Sutton, or South London, it would be lovely to see you there. Open studios are a chance to see the work in person, ask questions, and meet the artists behind the pieces in a relaxed setting.
